“Marketing is Dead” Says Saatchi & Saatchi CEO: To win today you need a culture and an environment where the unreasonable power of creativity thrives. Ideas are today’s currency - not strategy. Martin Luther King did not say “I have a vision statement” did he? He had a dream. You have to make sure you have dreams and your brand also needs a dream.

Why Luxury Brands Will Fail Without a Clear Design Philosphy: Customer driven innovation has been replaced by design driven innovation. As a result, it’s all about knowing your customer but also about being highly creative in order to be successful. This principle goes for niche markets as well as for the mass market.

Auténtico Tequila Alacrán or Authentic Scorpion Tequila. This is not a brand or some product created by a transnational corporation. Instead, it was made by a group of friends in Mexico City, who rebelled against the status quo and created this unconventionally pure white spirit concealed within a matte-black bottle. The special and rubbery (some say velvety) “Soft Touch” finish is a unique texture, never before applied on a tequila bottle, or any other that we know of. The shape was inspired by a canteen crossed with a liquor flask and its rugged skin makes it the ultimate urban trend. The tequila is absolutely delicious by the way. [LovelyPackage.com]

The bottle’s unique finish inspired the company’s stationary design using matte paper and embossed graphics to give it an urban, rugged look. [LovelyStationery.com]
